A Call to Persevere

17 But you must ^aremember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They ^{▼▼Or Christ, because they} said to you, ^c“In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, ^ddevoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, ^ebuilding yourselves up in your most holy faith and ^fpraying in the Holy Spirit, 21 ^gkeep yourselves in the love of God, ^hwaiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by ⁱsnatching them out of ^jthe fire; to others show mercy ^kwith fear, hating even ^lthe garment ^{▼▼Greek chiton, a long garment worn under the cloak next to the skin} stained by the flesh.

24 ⁿNow to him who is able ^oto keep you from stumbling and ^pto present you ^qblameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25 to ^rthe only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, ^sbe glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
