Isaiah 61:10-11

10 I will arejoice greatly in the Lord,
My soul will be joyful in bmy God;
For He has cclothed me with garments of salvation,
He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness,
As a groom puts on a turban,
And das a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

11 For as the eearth produces its sprouts,
And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up,
So the Lord
Heb YHWH, usually rendered Lord
God will gcause hrighteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations.

Isaiah 62

Zion’s Glory and New Name

1 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet,
Until her irighteousness goes forth like brightness,
And her jsalvation like a torch that is burning.

2 The knations will see your righteousness,
And all kings your glory;
And you will be called by a new lname
Which the mouth of the Lord will designate.

3 You will also be a mcrown of beauty in the hand of the Lord,
And a royal headband in the hand of your God.

4 It will no longer be said to you, “
I.e., Azubah
,
oForsaken,”
Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “
I.e., Shemamah
Desolate”;
But you will be called, “
I.e., Hephzibah
My delight is in her,”
And your land, “
I.e., Beulah
,
sMarried”;
For the tLord delights in you,
And to Him your land will be married.

5 For as a young man marries a virgin,
So your sons will marry you;
And as the
Lit joy of the groom is over
groom rejoices over the bride,
So your vGod will rejoice over you.

6 On your walls, Jerusalem, I have appointed wwatchmen;
All day and all night they will never keep silent.
You who xprofess the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;

7 And ygive Him no rest until He establishes
And makes zJerusalem an object of praise on the earth.

8 aaThe Lord has sworn by His right hand and by His mighty arm:
“I will abnever again give your grain as food for your enemies,
Nor will
Lit sons of foreigners
foreigners drink your new wine for which you have labored.”

9 But those who adharvest it will eat it and praise the Lord;
And those who gather it will drink it in the courtyards of My sanctuary.

10 Go through, aego through the gates,
Clear a way
Lit of
for the people!
agBuild up, build up the ahhighway,
Remove the stones, lift up a aiflag over the peoples.

11 Behold, the Lord has proclaimed to the ajend of the earth:
akSay to the daughter of Zion, “Behold, your alsalvation is coming;
amBehold His reward is with Him, and His compensation before Him.”

12 And they will call them, “ anThe holy people,
The aoredeemed of the Lord”;
And you will be called, “Sought Out, A City apNot Abandoned.”

Isaiah 63:1-9

God’s Vengeance on the Nations

1 Who is this who comes from aqEdom,
With argarments of
Or crimson
glowing colors from atBozrah,
This One who is majestic in His apparel,
Lit Inclining
Marching in the greatness of His strength?
“It is I, the One who speaks in righteousness, avmighty to save.”

2 Why is Your apparel red,
And Your garments like one who awtreads in the wine press?

3axI have trodden the wine trough alone,
And from the peoples there was no one with Me.
I also aytrod them in My anger
And aztrampled them in My wrath;
And batheir
Lit juice
lifeblood is sprinkled on My garments,
And I
Lit defiled
stained all My clothes.

4 “For the bdday of vengeance was in My heart,
And My year of redemption has come.

5 “I looked, but there was beno one to help,
And I was astonished and there was no one to uphold;
So My bfown arm brought salvation to Me,
And My wrath upheld Me.

6 “I bgtrampled down the peoples in My anger
And made them bhdrunk with My wrath,
And I
Lit brought down their juice to the earth
poured out their lifeblood on the earth.”

God’s Ancient Mercies Recalled

7 I will make mention of the bjmercies of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord,
According to all that the Lord has granted us,
And the great bkgoodness toward the house of Israel,
Which He has granted them according to His blcompassion
And according to the abundance of His mercies.

8 For He said, “Certainly they are bmMy people,
Sons who will not deal falsely.”
So He became their bnSavior.

9 In all their distress
Another reading is He was not an adversary
,
bpHe was distressed,
And the bqangel of His presence saved them;
In His brlove and in His mercy He bsredeemed them,
And He btlifted them and carried them all the days of old.
