(Exodus 20:1-17) 1Dyma Moses yn galw pobl Israel at ei gilydd ac yn dweud wrthyn nhw: “Israel, gwrandwch ar y rheolau a'r canllawiau dw i'n ei rhoi i chi heddiw. Dw i eisiau i chi eu dysgu nhw, a'u cadw nhw. 2“Roedd yr Arglwydd ein Duw wedi gwneud ymrwymiad gyda ni wrth fynydd Sinai. 3Gwnaeth hynny nid yn unig gyda'n rhieni, ond gyda ni sy'n fyw yma heddiw. 4Siaradodd Duw gyda ni wyneb yn wyneb, o ganol y tân ar y mynydd. 5(Fi oedd yn sefyll yn y canol rhyngoch chi â'r Arglwydd, am fod gynnoch chi ofn, a ddim eisiau mynd yn agos ar y mynydd. Fi oedd yn dweud wrthoch chi beth oedd neges yr Arglwydd.) A dyma ddwedodd e: 6“‘Fi ydy'r Arglwydd eich Duw chi. Fi wnaeth eich achub chi o wlad yr Aifft,lle roeddech chi'n gaethweision.
7Does dim duwiau eraill i fod gen ti, dim ond fi.
8Paid cerfio eilun i'w addoli –
dim byd sy'n edrych fel unrhyw
aderyn, anifail na physgodyn.
9Paid plygu i lawr a'u haddoli nhw.
Dw i, yr Arglwydd dy Dduw di, yn Dduw eiddigeddus.
Dw i'n cosbi pechodau'r rhieni sy'n fy nghasáu i,
ac mae'r canlyniadau yn gadael eu hôl ar y plant
am dair i bedair cenhedlaeth.
10Ond dw i'n dangos cariad di-droi-nôl,
am fil o genedlaethau,
at y rhai sy'n fy ngharu i
ac yn gwneud beth dw i'n ddweud.
11Paid camddefnyddio enw'r Arglwydd dy Dduw.
Fydda i ddim yn gadael i rywun sy'n camddefnyddio fy enw
ddianc rhag cael ei gosbi.
12Cadw'r dydd Saboth yn sbesial,
yn ddiwrnod cysegredig, gwahanol i'r lleill,
fel mae'r Arglwydd dy Dduw wedi gorchymyn i ti.
13Gelli weithio ar y chwe diwrnod arall,
a gwneud popeth sydd angen ei wneud.
14Mae'r seithfed diwrnod i'w gadw yn Saboth i'r Arglwydd.
Does neb i fod i weithio ar y diwrnod yma –
ti na dy feibion a dy ferched,
dy weision na dy forynion chwaith;
dim hyd yn oed dy ychen a dy asyn,
nac unrhyw anifail arall;
nac unrhyw fewnfudwr sy'n aros gyda ti.
Mae'r gwas a'r forwyn i gael gorffwys fel ti dy hun.
15Cofia dy fod ti wedi bod yn gaethwas yn yr Aifft,
a bod yr Arglwydd dy Dduw wedi defnyddio ei nerth rhyfeddol i dy achub di oddi yno;
Dyna pam mae'r Arglwydd dy Dduw wedi gorchymyn i ti gadw'r dydd Saboth yn sbesial,
16Rhaid i ti barchu dy dad a dy fam,
a byddi'n byw yn hir yn y wlad mae'r Arglwydd dy Dduw yn ei rhoi i ti.
17Paid llofruddio.

na dim byd sydd gan rywun arall.’
22“Dwedodd yr Arglwydd hyn i gyd wrth y bobl o ganol y tân, y cwmwl a'r tywyllwch ar y mynydd. A dyna'r cwbl wnaeth e ddweud. A dyma fe'n ysgrifennu'r geiriau ar ddwy lechen garreg, a'u rhoi nhw i mi.”

Dŷn ni wedi gweld bod pobl ddim yn marw'n syth pan mae Duw yn siarad â nhw. 25Ond mae gynnon ni ofn i'r tân ofnadwy yma ein llosgi ni. Does gynnon ni ddim eisiau marw. Os byddwn ni'n dal i glywed llais yr Arglwydd ein Duw yn siarad gyda ni, byddwn ni'n siŵr o farw. 26Oes yna unrhyw un erioed wedi clywed llais y Duw byw yn siarad o ganol y tân, fel dŷn ni wedi gwneud, ac wedi byw wedyn? 27Dos di i wrando ar bopeth mae'r Arglwydd ein Duw yn ei ddweud, ac wedyn cei ddod yn ôl i ddweud wrthon ni. A byddwn ni'n gwneud popeth mae e'n ddweud.’ 28“Roedd yr Arglwydd wedi'ch clywed chi'n siarad hefo fi, a dyma fe'n dweud wrtho i, ‘Dw i wedi clywed beth mae'r bobl wedi ei ddweud wrthot ti. Maen nhw'n iawn. 29Piti na fydden nhw'n dangos yr un parch ata i bob amser, ac eisiau gwneud beth dw i'n ddweud. Byddai pethau'n mynd yn dda iddyn nhw wedyn ar hyd y cenedlaethau. 30Dos i ddweud wrthyn nhw am fynd yn ôl i'w pebyll. 31Ond aros di yma, i mi gael dweud wrthot ti beth ydy'r gorchmynion, y rheolau a'r canllawiau dw i am i ti eu dysgu iddyn nhw. Wedyn byddan nhw'n gallu byw felly yn y wlad dw i'n ei rhoi iddyn nhw.’ 32“Felly, gwnewch yn union fel mae'r Arglwydd eich Duw yn ddweud. Peidiwch crwydro oddi wrth hynny o gwbl. 33Dych chi i fyw fel mae'r Arglwydd eich Duw wedi gorchymyn i chi, er mwyn i bethau fynd yn dda i chi, ac i chi gael byw yn hir yn y wlad dych chi'n mynd i'w chymryd.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
