Deuteronomy 10:16

{h} Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

(h) Cut off all your evil affections, Jer 4:4.

Romans 2:29

But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the {x} spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God.

(x) Whose power is inward, and in the heart.

Colossians 2:11

{9} In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the {p} body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

(9) Now he deals precisely against the third type, that is to say, against those who urged the Jewish religion: and first of all, he denies that we have need of the circumcision of the flesh, seeing that without it we are circumcised within, by the power of Christ. (p) These many words are used to show what the old man is, whom Paul in other places calls the body of sin.
