Psalms
BOOK I
(Psalms 1-41)
The Two Ways
1How happy is the manwho does not follow ▼
▼Lit not walk in
the advice of the wickedor take ▼
▼Lit stand in
the path of sinnersor join a group ▼
▼Or or sit in the seat
of mockers! d 2 Instead, his delight is in the Lord’s instruction,
and he meditates on it day and night. e
3 He is like a tree planted beside streams of water ▼
▼Or beside irrigation canals
that bears its fruit in season ▼
▼Lit in its season
,
hand whose leaf does not wither. i
Whatever he does prospers. j
4 The wicked are not like this;
instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away. k
5 Therefore the wicked will not survive ▼
▼Lit stand in
the judgment, mand sinners will not be in the community of the righteous.
6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, n
but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. o
