‏ Proverbs 2

The Pursuit of Wisdom Brings Security

1My son, if you will areceive my words
And btreasure my commandments within you,
2 cMake your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;
3For if you cry for discernment,
Lit Give
Lift your voice for understanding;
4If you seek her as esilver
And search for her as for fhidden treasures;
5Then you will discern the gfear of the Lord
And discover the knowledge of God.
6For hthe Lord gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.
7He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a ishield to those who walk in integrity,
8Guarding the paths of justice,
And He jpreserves the way of His godly ones.
9Then you will discern krighteousness and justice
And equity and every lgood course.
10For mwisdom will enter your heart
And nknowledge will be pleasant to your soul;
11Discretion will oguard you,
Understanding will watch over you,
12To pdeliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks qperverse things;
13From those who rleave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the sways of darkness;
14Who tdelight in doing evil
And rejoice in the perversity of evil;
15Whose paths are ucrooked,
And who are devious in their ways;
16To vdeliver you from the strange woman,
From the
Lit strange woman
,
xadulteress who flatters with her words;
17That leaves the ycompanion of her youth
And forgets the zcovenant of her God;
18For aaher house
Lit bows down
sinks down to death
And her tracks lead to the
Lit departed spirits
dead;
19None adwho go to her return again,
Nor do they reach the aepaths of life.
20So you will afwalk in the way of good men
And keep to the agpaths of the righteous.
21For ahthe upright will
Or dwell
live in the land
And ajthe blameless will remain in it;
22But akthe wicked will be cut off from the land
And althe treacherous will be amuprooted from it.
