Psalms 32
Blessedness of Forgiveness and of Trust in God.
A Psalm of David. A ▼▼ Possibly Contemplative, or Didactic, or Skillful PsalmMaskil.
1 bHow blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,Whose sin is covered!
2How blessed is the man to whom the Lord cdoes not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is dno deceit!
3When eI kept silent about my sin, fmy ▼
▼ Or bones, substance
body wasted awayThrough my ▼
▼ Lit roaring
,
igroaning all day long.4For day and night jYour hand was heavy upon me;
My ▼
▼ Lit life juices were turned into the drought of summer
,
lvitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. ▼▼ Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.5I nacknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I odid not hide;
I said, p“I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”;
And You qforgave the ▼
▼ Or iniquity
guilt of my sin. Selah.6Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You ▼
▼ Lit in a time of finding out
,
tin a time when You may be found;Surely uin a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
7You are vmy hiding place; You wpreserve me from trouble;
You surround me with ▼
▼ Or shouts
,
ysongs of deliverance. Selah.8I will zinstruct you and teach you in the way which you should go;
I will counsel you aawith My eye upon you.
9Do not be abas the horse or as the mule which have no understanding,
Whose trappings include bit and bridle to hold them in check,
Otherwise they will not come near to you.
10Many are the acsorrows of the wicked,
But adhe who trusts in the Lord, lovingkindness shall surround him.
11Be aeglad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones;
And shout for joy, all you who are afupright in heart.
