‏ Psalms 71

Prayer of an Old Man for Deliverance.

1 aIn You, O Lord, I have taken refuge;
Let me never be ashamed.
2 bIn Your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
cIncline Your ear to me and save me.
3 dBe to me a rock of ehabitation to which I may continually come;
You have given fcommandment to save me,
For You are gmy
Or crag
rock and my fortress.
4 iRescue me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked,
Out of the

grasp of the wrongdoer and ruthless man,
5For You are my khope;
O Lord

God, You are my mconfidence from my youth.

By You I have been osustained from my birth;
You are He who ptook me from my mother’s womb;
My qpraise is continually

7I have become a smarvel to many,
For You are tmy strong refuge.
8My umouth is filled with Your praise
And with vYour glory all day long.
9Do not cast me off in the wtime of old age;
Do not forsake me when my strength fails.
10For my enemies have spoken

life aahave consulted together,
11Saying, abGod has forsaken him;
Pursue and seize him, for there is acno one to deliver.”

12O God, addo not be far from me;
O my God, aehasten to my help!
13Let those who are adversaries of my soul be afashamed and consumed;
Let them be agcovered with reproach and dishonor, who ahseek

to injure me.
14But as for me, I will ajhope continually,
And will
Lit add upon all Your praise

alpraise You yet more and more.
15My ammouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And of anYour salvation all day long;
For I aodo not know the

sum of them.
16I will come aqwith the mighty deeds of the Lord

I will asmake mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.

17O God, You athave taught me from my youth,
And I still audeclare Your wondrous deeds.
18And even when I am avold and gray, O God, do not forsake me,
Until I awdeclare Your

strength to this generation,
Your power to all who are to come.
