God Abases the Proud, but Exalts the Righteous.

1 We bgive thanks to You, O God, we give thanks,For Your name is cnear;
Men declare dYour wondrous works.
2“When I select an eappointed time,
It is I who fjudge with equity.
3“The gearth and all who dwell in it ▼
▼ Or totter
melt;It is I who have firmly set its ipillars. ▼
▼ Selah may mean: Pause, Crescendo or Musical interlude
Selah.4“I said to the boastful, ‘Do not boast,’
And to the wicked, ‘ kDo not lift up the horn;
5Do not lift up your horn on high,
lDo not speak with insolent ▼
▼ Lit neck
pride.’”6For not from the east, nor from the west,
Nor from the ▼
▼ Or mountainous desert
,
odesert comes exaltation;7But pGod is the Judge;
He qputs down one and exalts another.
8For a rcup is in the hand of the Lord, and the wine foams;
It is ▼
▼ Lit full of mixture
,
twell mixed, and He pours out of this;Surely all the wicked of the earth must drain and udrink down its dregs.
9But as for me, I will vdeclare it forever;
I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
10And all the whorns of the wicked ▼
▼ Heb I
He will cut off,But ythe horns of the righteous will be lifted up.
