Thanksgiving for God’s Justice.

For the music director; on
Meaning of the Heb uncertain
Muth-labben. A Psalm of David.

1 I will give thanks to the Lord with all bmy heart;
I will ctell of all Your
Or miracles
wonders.

2 I will rejoice and be ejubilant in You;
I will fsing praise to Your name, O gMost High.

3 When my enemies turn back,
They stumble and hperish before You.

4 For You have imaintained
Lit my right and my cause
my just cause;
You have sat on the throne
Or a righteous Judge
ljudging righteously.

5 You have mrebuked the nations, You have eliminated the wicked;
You have nwiped out their name forever and ever.

6
Or O enemy, desolations are finished forever; And their cities You have uprooted
The enemy has come to an end in everlasting ruins,
And You have uprooted the cities;
The very pmemory of them has perished.

7 But the qLord
Or remains forever
sits as King forever;
He has established His sthrone for judgment,

8 And He will tjudge the world in righteousness;
He will execute judgment for the peoples fairly.

9
Or Let the Lord also be
The Lord will also be a vstronghold for the oppressed,
A stronghold in times of trouble;

10 And
Or let those...name put
those who xknow Your name will put their trust in You,
For You, Lord, have not yabandoned those who seek You.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who zdwells in Zion;
aaDeclare His deeds among the peoples.

12 For abHe who
I.e., avenges bloodshed
requires blood remembers them;
He does not forget adthe cry of the needy.

13 Be gracious to me, Lord;
See my oppression from those aewho hate me,
You who aflift me up from the gates of death,

14 So that I may tell of agall Your praises,
That in the gates of the daughter of Zion
I may ahrejoice in Your
Or deliverance
salvation.

15 The nations have sunk down ajinto the pit which they have made;
In the aknet which they hid, their own foot has been caught.

16 The Lord has almade Himself known;
He has amexecuted judgment.
A wicked one is ensnared in the work of his own hands.

17 The wicked will
Or turn
apreturn to
I.e., the netherworld
Sheol,
All the nations who arforget God.

18 For the asneedy will not always be forgotten,
Nor the athope of the afflicted perish forever.

19 auArise, Lord, do not let mankind prevail;
Let the nations be avjudged before You.

20 Put them awin fear, Lord;
Let the nations know that they are axmerely human. Selah
